Kamakura, Japan

We took a day trip to Kamakura, about an hour away from Tokyo. Kamakura is the old capital of Japan before Kyoto. It’s full of historical temples and shrines.

1. The Great Buddha

One of the biggest Buddha statues in Japan. The buddha is hollow and we got a chance to go inside and see how it’s made.

2. Hachangu Shrine

One of the largest and most famous shrines in Kamakura.

3. Komachi Dori

Right outside the east exit of JR Kamakura Station, Komachi Street has restaurants, snack booths, and souvenir stores.
